The History of the KAIZEN Club in Ukraine

The Japan Center in Ukraine began its activities at the National University «Kyiv-Mohyla Academy» in 1998. The Japan Center aims to help the further development of the Ukrainian economy by developing human resources during the period of establishment of the market economy in Ukraine, and, by improving contact between Japan and Ukraine in the sphere of external trade and business. On 22 May 2006, the Ukraine-Japan Centre, as a project of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), continued its work at the National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnical Institute».

On 13th December 2010, at the Premier Palace Hotel, Kyiv, was the official opening ceremony of KAIZEN Club in Ukraine as supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency - JICA (Ukraine-Japan Centre). During the opening of KAIZEN Club in Ukraine, Masaaki IMAI, the worldwide famous Guru of the KAIZEN philosophy and founder of the KAIZEN Institute conducted a master class at the opening ceremony. Ukraine’s business elite, government official’s and public organisations were present at the opening.

After the completion of its work of the project JICA Ukraine-Japan Centre (business programs) in 2011, KAIZEN Club in Ukraine continued in the format of a public organisation that combines the archetypal Japanese management traditions with the reality of the Ukrainian economy. KAIZEN Club in Ukraine promotes the oneness of Ukrainian-Japanese values in social, economic and scientific spheres.
